"Everybody should be allowed access to quality, affordable Musical Theatre & Dance Training!'
- Frances Clayton, MADD Founder and late Principal
Recent years have brought many exciting changes to MADD College; having moved premises into the stunning Grade II listed building in the centre of Nottingham known as Richmond House.
To celebrate our move to the heart of Nottingham City Centre, we have launched a fundraising campaign, which also celebrates our Diamond Jubilee in 2027!
We are raising money for our learners, future learners and to protect, invest in and improve these wonderful historic premises going forwards into and beyond our next 60 years.

Allocation and Impact of Funds Raised for MADD College
The funds raised for MADD College will be strategically allocated to benefit both our current students and the wider community through our 'Outreach' programmes in areas of educational deprivation. Every pound raised will be reinvested to create opportunities, improve access, and enhance the quality of education and experience for all involved.
1. Enhancement of Student Experience and Opportunities
A portion of the funds will be directed toward enriching the educational journey of our current MADD College students through:
Workshop Expansion: Bringing in guest artists, industry professionals, and performers for masterclasses and Q&A sessions to expose students to diverse practices and career paths in the performing and creative arts.
Performance & Production Resources: Purchasing costumes, props, stage design materials, and technical equipment to elevate student productions, giving learners real-world theatre and performance experience.
Bursaries and Scholarships: Providing financial assistance for students from low-income backgrounds to access additional training opportunities, attend auditions, or cover material costs—ensuring no talented student is held back by financial constraints.
2. Support for 'Outreach' Programmes in Deprived Communities
A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to extend our reach into communities that traditionally face barriers to arts education. These are our potential future students - our 'Outreach' aims to:
Deliver Free Creative Workshops: Offering sessions in music, dance, drama, and visual arts to young people in schools and community centres located in under-resourced areas. These workshops aim to build confidence, creativity, and aspiration among participants.
Train-the-Trainer Initiatives: Supporting teachers and youth workers in these areas by equipping them with creative tools and curricula so they can continue delivering arts education sustainably beyond our direct involvement.
Talent Pathway & Mentorship: Identifying promising individuals through outreach and connecting them to mentorship, audition coaching, and possible access routes into formal training at MADD College or similar institutions.
Transport and Accessibility: Covering travel costs and providing access to facilities for young people in isolated or low-income areas to attend events, showcases, or open days that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
Together, we can ensure that no talent is left undiscovered, no story untold, and no young person is left behind.
Nottingham and the Midlands deserve world class professional training in performing arts and to build further upon our conservatoire’s already exceptional international reputation.
Thank you for your support!
