Entrance Criteria 

Entry into the college is by audition and interview for students from 16 years of age. Entry requirements are dependant upon talent, attitude and the determination to succeed. 
 
Auditions are held throughout the year. Once an application is received you will be contacted with the next available audition date.  
 
Video submissions are also allowed only with prior consultation with the college. 
 

Audition Criteria 

During the audition you will need to demonstrate the following to be accepted onto the course: 
 
An all-around talent with potential for training and development for employment within a multi-skilled industry. 
A very good sense of musicality. 
Personality and presence. 
Determination and a positive attitude. 
 
You will then have to the opportunity to present the following, depending on the course application

Application Requirements 

Application Requirements 

HNC in Performing Arts - Musical Theatre (+18yrs) 

Applicants will be required to: 

Prepare & present one song from a musical theatre repertoire and one monologue. You should also be prepared to participate in a dance workshop and an interview. 
Minimum of 48 UCAS points. 
Ideally you will have a Level 3 Extended Diploma at grade Pass, Merit, Merit in a performing arts-related area 
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent 
Prior practical experience essential 
Good Written communication skills 
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each.  

HNC in Performing Arts - Dance (18+) 

Applicants will be required to: 

Take part in a Dance Class which incorporates Jazz Technique. 
Prepare and Perform two contrasting Dance Styles. 
Minimum of 48 UCAS points. 
Ideally you will have a Level 3 Extended Diploma at grade Pass, Merit, Merit in a performing arts-related area 
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent 
Prior practical experience essential 
Good Written communication skills 
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each. 

BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice (+16yrs) 

Applicants will be required to: 

Prepare and Perform 1 Musical Theatre Song and provide a backing track. 
Prepare and Perform a monologue – This must be from a published play. 
Prepare and Perform a dance solo in any style and provide a backing track. 
GCSE Maths and English at level 4 or above is preferred however there is the opportunity for these two subjects to be taken at the college if not achieved prior. 
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each. 

3 Year Professional Musical Theatre Diploma 

Applicants will be required to: 

Prepare and Perform 1 Musical Theatre Song and provide a backing track. 
Prepare and Perform a monologue – This must be from a published play. 
Prepare and Perform a dance solo in any style and provide a backing track.  
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each. 

3 Year Professional Dance Diploma 

Applicants will be required to: 

Take part in a Dance Class which incorporates Jazz Technique.

1 Year Foundation Performing Arts Diploma 

Applicants will be required to: 

Prepare and Perform 1 Musical Theatre Song and provide a backing track. 
Prepare and Perform a monologue – This must be from a published Play. 
Prepare and Perform a dance solo in any style. Please provide backing tracks. 
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each. 

1 Year Intensive Top-Up Course in Musical Theatre 

[Will have prior learning in singing, dance & acting] 

Applicants will be required to: 

Prepare and Perform 1 Musical Theatre Song and provide a backing track. 
Prepare and Perform a monologue – This must be from a published play. 
Prepare and Perform a dance solo in your preferred style. Please provide backing tracks.  
*all performances to last no longer than 2 minutes each.

Once you have completed your audition, you will be notified within 2 weeks of the audition if you have been successful. If accepted, you will receive further information about the course and what is required of you.

To apply for an audition click on the button below to download the application form. Complete the form and attach/scan two head & shoulders (passport size if physical copies) photographs. An audition fee is payable. You can find the details at the end of the Application Form. You can then either send your form to us in the post or email it to us at [email protected]
